The short version
Aqua has no telemetry, analytics, ads, or accounts. This website makes no third party requests. The launcher reads and writes files on your PC, and only contacts the services needed for something you asked it to do.
This website
The site is a set of static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and self hosted fonts. It uses no cookies, tracking pixels, embeds, or analytics. Your browser may still send ordinary request logs to whoever hosts the files, including your IP address, for operation and abuse prevention. Aqua does not receive or use those logs.
What Aqua stores on your PC
On Windows, the launcher keeps its data under
%APPDATA%\Aqua Launcher. Settings and profiles live in
launcher.json; shared game files live in minecraft/,
instances/, and runtime/; logs and world backups stay in
logs/ and backups/. Custom game folders are allowed after
checks against drive roots and protected system locations.
Aqua does not upload worlds, mods, screenshots, logs, or settings. Deleting an installation removes its profile entry, not its game folder.
Network requests
Aqua only makes a request when a feature needs one:
- Mojang and Microsoft endpoints for Java and Bedrock manifests, game files, and runtimes
- Modrinth for mod, resource pack, and datapack listings and downloads
- Minecraft servers you choose to ping or join
- GitHub for official Horizon release downloads
- The Microsoft Store catalogue for Bedrock build metadata
Those services handle their own data under their own policies. Aqua does not add tracking parameters or send your library contents with these requests.
Microsoft login
Aqua has Microsoft authentication in its backend, but it is hidden while the Azure application is pending Mojang approval. If it is enabled later, sign in happens on Microsoft's own pages. Aqua never sees or stores your password. Offline profiles need no account and cannot join online mode servers.
Contact
Questions or corrections can be raised in the Aqua issue tracker. If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
